Scholarship Program for NAEYC Accreditation Fees
Scholarship Awards
NAEYC is pleased to have funding available to assist some programs with the fees for accreditation. NAEYC Accreditation Scholarships are awarded to programs primarily on the basis of the program's financial need. Scholarship Applications will be reviewed within two months of receipt and programs are notified in three months. An Awards Committee makes decisions about awarding NAEYC Accreditation Scholarships. This committee is independent and separate from the NAEYC Academy for Programs for Young Children and its accreditation decisions.
If an application is denied, and additional information becomes available which significantly changes the program's application, the program may resubmit an application for reconsideration.
NAEYC Accreditation Fees
To ensure that all programs have the opportunity to seek NAEYC Accreditation, the NAEYC Accreditation Scholarship Program subsidizes the following accreditation fees associated with achieving and maintaining NAEYC Accreditation:
- Enrollment and Self-Study (Step 1)
- Application and Self-Assessment (Step 2)
- Candidacy, which includes Site-Visit (Step 3 and 4)
- Annual Reports
- Intent to Renew
- Renewal Materials
- Summary of Fees and Corresponding Awards
Effective January 1, 2012: While programs may apply for multiple NAEYC Accreditation Scholarships that correspond with the different steps of the Accreditation process, only one application per calendar year will be accepted. A new application and supporting documentation must be submitted for each step per program.
Core funding for the NAEYC Scholarship fund is provided by NAEYC.
Vouchers
- NAEYC will accept Scholarship Applications that are postmarked up to 6 months before a fee is due. Programs that are granted scholarships will receive a voucher to be applied towards their fee. Vouchers must be submitted at the time of payment and are only valid for 3 months.
Reimbursements
- NAEYC will accept Scholarship Applications that are postmarked up to 12 months after a fee is submitted. Programs that are granted scholarships will receive a reimbursement check for the amount awarded in the scholarship.
